Elton Hatibi is a resident scholar in the Heritage Project of the Konak Institute. He studied history in Tirana, later studying Turkish at Marmara University in Istanbul, and later history and cultural studies at the Gregorian University in Rome. His scholarly interest focuses on the cultural history of Islam in the Balkans, on the spiritual tradition, and the Epic Poetical Cannon of Northern Albania. He is currently studying the visual representations of Islam in school textbooks in Albania.
